Somerset County Cricket Club has signed a Kit Sponsorship contract with the outdoor and sport wear brand North Gear located in Bristol.

The announcement was positively accepted by the players of Somerset, who has been keen to get a new supplier of their Kit. Kim Williams CEO of North Gear: "Our strong side is functional fabrics and a striking design. We will be working very closely with the professional players to create a line of cricket clothing matching their demands with many functional components, such as quick dry, breathable and 2-way stretch. Our core aim is to launch a full Cricket Performance Wear range in 2006, after we have created a full range of technical cricket wear for Somerset. The result will definately be far away from anything the Somerset players has ever seen before. We are delighted to have signed the contract with Somerset as it gives us a platform from were we can prove our concept within cricket as well“
